that requires you to register 4 NS hosts with the parent TLDs rather than
just two. no need for that.

Internet DNSs will query all your delegated NSs as they see fit. nothing
for you to do.

bind8 is, probably bind9 with a different selection routine, but it appears
that W2K DNS is kinda stupid about this, but there's nothing can do about it.
in any case, whether your DNSs are on one subnet or two doesn't change how
Internet selects which one to query.

having your DNSs on different WAN links is a good technique to eliminate
single point of failure. but it's simpler to do that you are making out. :))
