Re: Auto Server Setup with Multiple ServersFrom: Dave Tanguay Date: Thursday, April 15, 1999
Time: 3:59:59 pmHi Shawn,
Bear with me...cause I'm a little new to these 'scripts' and the automated stuff.
I was getting tired of entering and activating everything by hand =(
You can't just put a customer field called "Server IP"?
Have the variable <ServerIP>
You could list an unlimited # of servers.
And when the Optigold script executes it would use <ServerIP> as the HOSTNAME?
It would still use the same script and I wouldn't think you would need to develop
any additional scripts.
Remember, both of our Linux servers use the same exact keystrokes to add, delete,
modify accounts.
So the only difference would be the <ServerIP>
That is why I was confused when you said "So there are 14 possible scripts as it
is
now, 5 possible on each one would bump it up to 70."
You really wouldn't need to develop any additional scripts if the keystrokes were
the same on all your servers.
Just use the same availalble 14 scripts and have the HOSTNAME pull it's value
from <ServerIP>
Think that could work?
Regards,
