Search Again: MX records From: Bennie Warren Date: Wednesday, March 26, 2003 Time: 2:08:36 pm I have a couple of real dumb questions. I have been running QDNS for years and still do on OSX. Below is a lookup on one of my domains. Maybe I have never understood MX records. Here is what I want to happen. 1. All mail to lemoorenet.com to go to mail.lemoorenet.com. Your address is yourname@lemoorenet.com 2. www.lemoorenet.com to be going to the same place as lemoorenet.com in your browser. So I think my problem right now is the A record to lemoorenet.com is an address on the mail server when really it should be pointed to the webserver with a cname www.lemoorenet.com. So the MX record answers and says go to mail.lemoorenet.com for all mail that comes to the domain lemoorenet.com? Hopefully this all makes since and maybe I do understand it and just didn't implement it properly.
