trying to move to 4.5From: Mitch Kahn Date: Friday, March 28, 2003
Time: 9:32:02 pmAdmittedly, I am near clueless when it comes to DNS (I even attempted
to read DNS and Bind but got little more than a sore from where I was
scratching my head at nearly every paragraph). While I have purchased
the upgrades all along, since my servers were working, I never bothered
to install an upgrade beyond 2.2.1.
Since I subscribed to an annual contract last fall, that makes me the
proud owner of the latest and greatest version, I figured I should
download and install it. Now I find myself attempting to install Quick
DNS Pro 4.5 on Mac OS X 10.2.4. I ran the installer which said it was
installing QDNS, Remote and Central. It was reported that the
installation was successful. So far so good. (Even this idiot is
capable of clicking "easy install"). This is where the trouble begins.
The instructions indicate that to connect for the first time I need to
start Quick DNS Manager. Searching my hard drive for this item returns
exactly zero in the search results.
My question: Besides getting up this morning, where did I go wrong?
Thanks for any assistance.
Mitch
