I think Safari is more to blame that people let on. As much as I
like the browser, I've gone back to using Chimera and have not had a
single problem with pages loading.

I'm not sure how Safari is messing things up, being a client, but it
does not see to be able to get names resolved at first try for some
reason.

The update to BIND came around the same time an update to Safari
came, so people didn't know which one to blame.

As support pointed out, QDNS is a front end to BIND. It manages
BIND. Which means when a query comes in from a client, BIND handles
the request without the help of QDNS.
