Time: 8:06:35 amWell, what happens if someone accidentally or ignorantly sends mail
to user@www.example.com? Without the MX record, it gets delivered to
the web server's address itself, which may not even have a mail
server on it. With an MX record, it at least has a chance of reaching
its intended recipient.
I've seen some experts recommend an MX record for any name that has
any record at all (except CNAME records, of course). And I've seen
other experts argue with this recommendation, saying it's unnecessary.
