You can set up the Web Interface in OptiGold to allow Online Signup,
Customer access to their accounts, etc.. typically, a OptiGold install
consists of:

- FileMaker Server (where your data resides)
- FileMaker Pro Clients (the GUI front end that runs on the workstations
that reads the data from FMP Server)
- FileMaker Unlimited (the front end that activates/allows for the web
interface to work)

You can get by with just FileMaker Pro client operating in "workgroup" mode
if your installation is small. It makes it a bit harder to perform backups
of the data files, but does work fine.

What we did for the FileMaker Pro Client portion is install a copy on
Windows 2000 running Terminal Services. Our staff then uses the Remote
Desktop Client to connect to the machine, and then runs the FMP
Client. Greatly simplifies things for us, at least (not having to install
the client on each workstation, deal with upgrades across multiple
machines, etc).
