STAY AWAY FROM JOKER!!! WOW, sorry, just saw this thread. I had all of my
domains registered through Joker for years. Then one day, my ISP went
belly-up. Of course, good ole Joker was hosting the domain with the Name
Server Record, and wouldn't let me change it. After WEEKS of calling,
emailing, etc., I finally HIRED a German fellow to physically go to the
office and flail his fists (Dusseldorf in Germany, I think?), finally got
the records changed, and was able to get control of the domains to forward
to new addresses. (Good ole QDNS team was extremely helpful, incidentally).
In the weeks that all of the domains were pointing nowhere I lost half of my
clients and it nearly put me out of business.
To THIS DAY, years afterward, the process of getting domains back from them
is so convoluted and difficult and takes so long (and the people there speak
German and totally avoid you when you need them) that I still have domains
that are stuck with them. Every time I hear the name Joker I want to cry.
Please, do me, if not yourself, the favor and go with a register who will
help you when the cards aren't going your way.
I beg you, leave Joker while you can.
