I don't really understand what the problem was. Did you want to change
the IP address of your nameserver or the nameserver record for each
domain? Whichever there is a simple web interface or you can do it by
email. As long as you are the registered owner/admin or are you saying
these domains were registered by your ISP and had their details?

Transferring domains between registrars is simple whoever they are. You
initiate the request via your new registrar. Once satisfied that the
request is legitimate they are the ones who contact the old registrar,
not you, the old registrar then emails the registered contacts for
confirmation. Job done.

Although I sympathize it is a German company what do you expect?

Under ICANN rules the registrant can move a domain name as mentioned
above.
