CNAME chain works fine, apart from the multiple queries required to chase
down the A record if it's in different servers and zones. The specific
problems with a CNAME chain is when resolution doesn't terminate with a A
record, or when the CNAME chain becomes a CNAME loop.
The general problem with CNAMEs is that they work fine, but people screw
them up.
