Basic, getting started, need help - Mac OS XFrom: Nicholas J. Rufa Date: Monday, June 30, 2003
Time: 8:58:10 amHelp! I've looked through the User's Guide and couldn't find the
answers.
Two questions. First Q:
I've downloaded and installed to my own Mac for testing:
QuickDNS 4.5.1 Installer
QuickDNS Central Installer
QuickDNS Manager 4.5.1
I have entered the temporary license key.
I can get in to the Manager app, but I can't Add a Name Server. Do I
need to have my ISP, who is currently providing DNS service for me, to
assign my IP address a legitimate host name?
Second Q:
Once I'm running, what do I tell my ISP regarding switching from
they're DNS management to mine? Do I ask for the zone file? I need to
change the DNS addresses with my registrar, correct?
Any guidance is appreciated.
