Help! Have switched Broadband company and now nothing works...From: Andreas Carlsson Date: Thursday, July 3, 2003
Time: 12:27:11 pmPlease help!
Background:
We just switched our broadband connection and thus got new IP numbers
for our servers. I registered the change at our domain provider
yesterday (GoDaddy).
When trying to connect to our QuickDNS server I got a timeout with
the following error message:
"Unable to connect to the server "ns.kicknick.net"".
If I write the wrong password I get a "Wrong password"-warning, so I
know I have connection to the QuickDNS server. Likewise, I can ssh
the machine, so I have a connection...
What can be wrong?
a) Because ns.kicknick.net is not pointed to 62.181.204.83 anywhere
in the world, I have to wait to connect until it is.
b) Something is wrong with the name server.
c) something other..
The change at GoDaddy should work by now, so I'm starting to
panicking and think that something else must be wrong.
Details:
DNS 1: ns.kicknick.net
New IP: 62.181.204.83
Old IP: 62.95.47.106
Please help, I don't know what to do... :(
