Moving a DNS server

Greeting QuickDNS'ers:

We're getting a new T1 circuit tomorrow and will be slowly moving over,
replacing our SDSL (yay!). They will both be there for a month overlap,
and I wanted to layout my plan on here to ask if anyone sees a problem
with it. Thanks in advance.

Currently we have 3 DNS servers (OS X, QuickDNS 4.5). Two are on the
SDSL (dns1 & dns2), one is at a friends T1 (dns3). The first thing I
wanted to do is move dns2 to the new T1 side tomorrow. I was going to:

1. Add entry for "orion.equitek.com" at the new IP for dns2, so I don't
have to wait for "dns2.equitek.com" to propagate.
2. change the IP of dns2 at Verisign.
3. Run scripts on all domains to change the IP of dns2 to the new T1 IP.
4. "remove" dns2 in QuickDNS Manager.
5. change the IP of the dns2 machine in OS X's "Network" preference.
6. Plug dns2 into the new T1 side.
7. Add dns2 back in QuickDNS Manager
(possibly needing to call it "orion.equitek.com")
8. Later, when dns2 has propagated, I can remove and add it back under
it's "real " name.

How does that sound?

-David
