If you have FileMaker installed, the installer wont even LET you install the runtime, unless the cancel the searching for installed components. Did you do that possibly? Sounds like you did all sorts of things (like install some 3rd party nettools stuff). I would uninstall everything (Optigold and FileMaker), then install normally... FileMaker, then Optigold.
