Search Again: Re: mondomail load capacity From: AKnasinski Date: Wednesday, August 6, 2003 Time: 6:55:16 pm Diana - I have a client who sends many messages (not sure on specifics) but here are some factors to consider... for filemaker/mail sending windows is faster than macos for comparable hardware (pII 300 is faster than G3/300) however my client uses multiple macs with FMP 5.x for sending and then sends in batches of 1000. mail server on the local network is far faster than a remote server no matter what net connection mail server on windows is faster than mail on macos I have setup Mercury Mail (Free SMTP server) on Windows 2k with the same box running MSSQL *AND* FMP Server w/dual Pentium Pro 200's and it's faster than a G3/400 desktop running EIMS. (when I say faster, I mean taking messages from dual FMP clients *and* sending messages across cable modem) the biggest problem is probably bounce management when sending large quantities.
