I haven't seen any unexpected quits with FileMaker 6 on OS X (any version).
I *have* seen some bugs in FileMaker 6.0 when doing some advanced CDML
stuff, so for our customers we always tell them to use 5.5 instead of 6.0
(for our products there are no advantages to running 6.0 over 5.5).

I don't believe there is a queuing system in the newer MondoMails like there
was in the old...
