Ask them to verify the IP address of the machine they have configured. Also ask them to see if there are any errors in the log (probably a syslogd log file). And also ask them to update to a more recent version of Bind - at least version 8.3.4. The easiest way to use nslookup... Don't. Don't use it at all, ever. It's bad. Use dig or host instead.
