Re: Lame SecondaryFrom: Men & Mice Support Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2003
Time: 11:44:31 amIndeed, auth0.ns.charter.net (209.225.8.42) does not contain
authoritative data for allnightsing.com.
Ask them to verify the IP address of the machine they have
configured. Also ask them to see if there are any errors in the log
(probably a syslogd log file). And also ask them to update to a more
recent version of Bind - at least version 8.3.4.
The easiest way to use nslookup... Don't. Don't use it at all, ever.
It's bad. Use dig or host instead.
The commands I used to verify that the server in question is
non-authoritative are:
dig allnightsing.com soa +norecurse @f.gtld-servers.net
dig allnightsing.com soa +norecurse @68.115.129.176
dig allnightsing.com soa +norecurse @209.225.8.42
