Re: Upgrade from PC Auth Hub to WebAuth

Let me see if I can help you out:

We have Server A which is running Windows 2000 Server with File Maker =
Pro
Server sharing the Digital Point OptiGold ISP files in Multi User mode.
This server is also running WebAuthorize, it was previously running PC
Authorize Hub for more then 3 years.

On Workstations B & C we have Windows 2000 Pro running File Maker Pro =
with
the workstation install of Digital Point OptiGold ISP, the tellan.fmx in =
the
System folder of the application root on the local hard drive =
(c:\Program
Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro 5\System\TELLAN.FMX). These workstations =
also
have the Webauthorize Client installed as well as the PC Authorize hub
Client (However, neither of these were installed until after you =
requested
that I test it from the clients). Both of these clients can connect to =
the
Web Authorize server from each workstation. But when either client =
tries to
process a credit card it will fail, OptiGold will catch the failure and =
ask
if I want to see the error message for the transaction. When I click =
YES,
the previously reported error is displayed.

Just FYI, I found an old US Robotics 56K modem and PC Authorize Hub is =
now
working again, however we just spent some money to get Webauthorize and
would rather get it working. In theory, I should be able to stop the
WebAuth service, start the PC Hub service and make a change in OptiGold
under the billing preferences. (I will worry about open batches and =
what
not, please don't concern yourself with that.)

What would you like me to test next?

Randy

No, what I'm talking about is not from within Optigold at all. But on =
one
of the machines you are running Optigold (that you get the error on), =
have
you run the PC Authorize Hub client from *that* machine and connected
successfully to WebAuthorize?
