I've tried it and the without success. I don't know if it is a problem of
configuration of the machine. In fact I don't have any hint.

If you browse to the setup file located in the win32 dir on the cd and try
and run it what happens then?

Apologies if you have tried this already...

Subject: [Oracle] Installation problem

I have an installation problem. I cannot launch (that is Oracle universal
installer does not even start) the installation of Oracle 8.1.7 from its cd
on a windows 2000 server machine with the following characteristics: Pentium
4, 540MB of RAM, 17GB of hard disk(of which 12GB are free). The same cd
launch the installation on an XP machine with the characteristics Pentium 3,
240MB of RAM, 17GB of hard disk(of which 4GB is free). I really have to
install Oracle 8.1.7 on the Windows 2000 server. Please help me to find the
problem and to solve it.
