I've done quite a few imports/exports for others that I've done work for,
and there is really no "easy" way to do it. One of the key things to do is
to write down the default import order (which you can get by doing an
export, the writing down the fields) so you can massage your import data to
fit with the default import order (this eliminates the need to mess around
with the field order during the import). Expect to do the import several
times, as there *will* be things you didn't expect come up :-) Make sure
you make a backup of the data pre-import. If you use Excel to massage any
data, make sure the field type for all columns is set to "General" so it
won't truncate spaces and other characters that you'll want to preserve.
