Make sure that /etc/named.conf is the correct version - it should
have a comment at the top that looks like this:

// This file was generated by QuickDNS from Men & Mice

If not, look for other files with names starting with "named.conf" in
the /etc directory that are the correct one. Once you've found it,
rename it to named.conf.

If that's not the problem, or if you still have problems after fixing
that, then try this command as root:

/usr/sbin/qdnsremoted -debug -ll5

Does it give an error message?
