Once it is working optigold should not have any problems, especially if it is working when using cat5. To help troubleshoot your wireless network I guess I would first try it briefly without any security to make sure that it isn't other wireless network trouble and then once you can verify that you have a basic wireless network start cranking up the security to find which part you are having trouble with.
