From my experience this is what it is:
FileMaker Pro 4.x ($162.95) full version or trade-up is the same product.
Same price, same product, etc. FileMaker Pro 4.x comes with a mail-in
coupon worth $50 that you can mail to FileMaker, Inc. to get a $50 rebate
for competitive upgrades (any database).
FileMaker Pro Server 3.0 is two different products. The normal one runs
$816.95. The competitive upgrade one runs $248.95. Normally SQL Server,
Oracle, etc (any database server) qualifies for the upgrade pricing. But
I've *heard* that the upgrade version of server can be ordered without
showing proof of ownership of a competitive product... But that's just
what I've HEARD, not that anyone should do that.
