Problem with Outstanding queries

For the last few months I've been having a problem concerning large numbers
of outstanding queries. It gets to "Outstanding:10" and just sits there.
Unless I restart the software (from File menu) or restart the computer it
will stay at 10 for a few days (3-4) and then will freeze. When I restart
the software the number will temporarily jump to some ridiculous number like
23 or 30 and then come down to a lower number and act normal again. I would
say this happens about once every 1.5 weeks or so. Even right now after a
restart it's sitting at Outstanding:6. We currently have about 1Mb of
unused bandwidth.

Software:
QuickDNS Server 3.53
Mac OS 9.1

Hardware:
Beige G3 at 266Mhz
Asante 10/100 ethernet card on a 100Mb switch
50MB RAM assigned to QDNS Server
192MB Real RAM
VM on

I've got about 10 zones including an internal only zone and a reverse zone
for it. I've got about 40 active computers including servers. No changes
that I remember before the problems started.

Thanks,
Dave
