Re: QuickDNS BackupFrom: Gregg Opper Date: Monday, February 23, 2004
Time: 8:27:20 amQuestion: I received the following instructions from my DSL provider,
SBC. How do I implement this?
The PBI assigned IP block of :: 66.123.238.208/29
have been delegated to your DNS server for the reverse
in-addr lookups. This is RFC2317 < class C style reverse delegation.
The in-addr zone has been delegated to:
pri = DNS1.GREATCONCEPTS.COM 66.123.238.210
sec = DNS2.GREATCONCEPTS.COM 66.123.238.211
You will need to run the following reverse in-addr zone:
208.238.123.66.in-addr.arpa
Please add NS records for ns1.pbi.net and ns2.pbi.net,
and allow zone transfers from these nameservers.
I am using QuickDNS v 3.0.1 on a Mac, and will be switching to the
latest version later this year. I tried doing a reverse in-addr zone
record, but it won't do one like 208.238.123.66.in-addr.arpa only
238.123.66.in-addr.arpa . I need this setup mainly so that my email
server will be viewed as legitimate (which it is).
Thanks,
Gregg Opper
