When you launch QuickDNS manager, it pops up a box asking for
servername, username and password. When you fill these in it connects
to QuickDNS Central. This is just the management system there is no
actual DNS server at this point and you are not connected to your DNS
server even if it is running on the same machine - until you
successfully add one.

Open the Manager window (if it isn't already open) it's under the
Window menu. Click the first icon which is "Server view" and see if
anything is listed - I suspect not.

To add a server....
Under the Administration window choose "Add name server..." here you
put the QuickDNS server name (and IP address if you want) and click
add.

This may well be the same server that you just connected to with
QuickDNS Manager.

Assuming QuickDNS Remote and QuickDNS Server are running it should
connect and appear in the Manager window.

I believe you need to install them separately. This may well be the
problem.

This definitely sounds like you haven't got QuickDNS Remote running.

Yes, follow the instructions abouve. No you don't have to connect from
a different server. QuickDNS Manager, QuickDNS Central, QuickDNS Remote
and QuickDNS Server can all be on the same machine or on possibly 3
different ones it doesn't matter.
