Search Again: LetterRip Overrunning our DNS? From: Kenneth Kirksey Date: Monday, April 19, 2004 Time: 9:01:40 am I've noticed a lot of "Domain Name Unrecognized" errors in the daily statis= tics log on one of my LetterRip mailing lists. That list has close to 20,00= 0 subscribers, and is an announcement only list. My setup: LetterRip 4 iMac G3/233 OS 9.1 70 Outgoing connections 120 second timeout QuickDNS 3.5.3 PowerMac G3/233 Tower (Beige) OS 8.5.1 I've spot checked the domains that LetterRip reported as unrecognized, and = they were all valid domains. Is it possible that LetterRip is in some cases= sending out requests so fast that QuickDNS can't keep up? If so, what are = some possible solutions to the problem? Thanks! Ken
