But how could they look up the new IP addresses, if the nameservers
where you want them to look up the addresses have moved to the new IP
addresses already? :-)

That won't do it. You need to update the nameserver hosts.

You're not specifying the IPs, you're specifying the nameserver host.
Update that nameserver host IP and it will be updated on all domains
using that nameserver host.
Looks like you're domains are with Tucows/OpenSRS. Assuming your domain
provider uses the standard management interface, log in for the domain
name of the nameservers and go to the "NameServers" tab. Scroll down
near the bottom and click the "click here" next to "If you want to
create or modify a nameserver which is based on [your domain]". You can
update the IP addresses in the "Manage Nameserver Hosts" section.
You'll also need to have your secondary servers update the master server
IP address.
Your domain provider should be able to help you if things look
different, or you can write to me off list.
