FileMaker Pro 3.0 and 4.0 data files are identical. What that means is
that you can have a mixture of 3.0 and 4.0 clients if you wish.

The "ideal" (but not mandatory) setup would be a FileMaker Pro 3.0 Server
with 1 copy of FileMaker Pro 4.0 (for the customer webn interface) and
then all the other workstation can run FileMaker Pro 3.0 Runtime.

Okay... this is a breakdown of the FileMaker Pro line of products...

FileMaker Pro 3.0 Runtime
- It's free
- Can run Optigold ISP as a client
- Can run Optigold ISP as an acting server

FileMaker Pro 3.0
- Costs $50-$150 (depending if it's an upgrade or not)
- Can run Optigold ISP as a client
- Can run Optigold ISP as an acting server
- Only difference between it and runtime is it allows you to develop
software

FileMaker Pro 3.0 Server
- Costs $300-$900 (depending if it's an upgrade or not)
- Can run Optigold ISP as a server
- High performance
- Up to 100 users at once
- Automated backups, etc.

FileMaker Pro 4.0
- Costs $75-$170 (depending if it's an upgrade or not)
- Can run Optigold ISP as a client
- Can run Optigold ISP as an acting server
- 1 copy required to run the customer web interface in Optigold ISP
- Adds a few minor cosmetic features to Optigold ISP when using it

Hope that helps... if you have any other questions, let me know.
