QuickDNS 3.5 (Mac OS 9): Reverse lookup configFrom: Guido Neitzer Date: Tuesday, October 12, 2004
Time: 3:54:43 amHi.
=46irst: I'm not a DNS administrator and I only have basic knowledge on DN=
S
adminsitration - but now I have to solve a problem ... :-(
We received a message that our mailservers IP address can't be resolved to
a valid hostname via reverse lookup.
I tested this here:
http://remote.12dt.com/rns/
IP Address 62.153.135.53 resolves to:
(unable to resolve 62.153.135.53)=20
Seems to be so. Okay.
When I try to do a reverse lookup from our local net (with our own
nameserver), everything seems fine:
53.135.153.62.in-addr.arpa name =3D mail.apoexpress.de.
How can I check, what's going wrong? How should a working configuration in
QuickDNS Manager look like? For us it's only important to have reverse
lookup for a few IP addresses.
Maybe someone can give me screenshot of a correctly configured QuickDNS
server window with some IPs configured for reverse lookup.
Thanks for any help.
