Re: Upgrading QuickDNS machine from 10.1 to 10.2From: Men & Mice Support Date: Tuesday, October 19, 2004
Time: 3:21:33 pmYes. The upgrade will stomp on /etc/named.conf. In the past, we've
given extensive directions to fix this once it happens, but here's an
easier way:
Step 1: Back up /etc/named.conf. Use this command:
sudo cp /etc/named.conf /etc/named.conf.mmsaved
Step 2: Upgrade the OS.
Step 3: Restore /etc/named.conf. Use this command:
sudo cp /etc/named.conf.mmsaved /etc/named.conf
Step 4: Reboot.
