Re: qdns upgrade from 3From: Men & Mice Support Date: Tuesday, October 26, 2004
Time: 2:55:30 pm- Set up the new machine - install and update the OS and install QuickDNS.
- Bring over your zones. <http://kbase.menandmice.com/view.html?rec=18>
- Change the A record for your server's name to point to the new
address. Do this on both servers.
- Update your host registration record with your domain registrar.
- Configure all of your machines to look to the new DNS server, in
their TCP/IP settings. If you have ISP customers, get them to change
over too.
- Wait several weeks.
- Take down your old DNS server (leaving WebSTAR running on that machine).
