That's odd. If you're seeing logging categories in the logging file
that belong to BIND 8 only, then most likely QuickDNS Remote doesn't
know what version of BIND you're using.

Add the following line to /var/named/qdns/preferences.cfg:

<BINDVersion value="9">

Then restart QuickDNS Remote. You should then be able to edit the
logging file and not have QuickDNS Remote add inappropriate logging
categories back in.

If they go in the options statement block, then you should be able to
add them to the options file, but they must be understood by QuickDNS
Remote. What options are you trying to add?
