I would like to add something to Rob's last response.
We currently deal with a bank that performs optical verification, but they
have somehow found a way to piss me off and I am considering going to a
different bank.
The first thing that I mentioned was V Checks. They can not do optical
scans, but they have seen fit to work this out in a different way.
They intend to run the checks that we will be printing through the old
fashioned way, if they dont scan (which still happens with regular checks
sometimes), they will forward them on to another department to have them
entered manually.
You might consider asking your bank if they can do this for you also. They
might not like it, but they are "supposed to be" there to serve the customer.
Considering the flow of money from an ISP that has built the customer base,
most banks would love to get your business.
