Tax Problems On QuoteFrom: Brett Taylor Date: Wednesday, July 14, 1999
Time: 6:41:59 pmI'm having problems with a quote I'm trying to give. Let me explain... Here
in BC (Canada) we have a federal tax (GST) of 7% which is on every
product/service we do, and we also have a provincial tax of 7% (PST) which
is on services/products, but not things like website design. I have GST
set-up as the primary (sales) tax, and PST set-up as the secondary tax. I
have a product for webdesign which is set-up to be tax exempt (I've also
tried setting it to be taxable). When I create the quote, I click to make it
taxable, and select GST from the list. I don't check the tax item beside the
prodct on the list. At the bottom, it calculates the sales tax to be
nothing, and the secondary tax to be 7%, however it doesn't add it to the
total for some reason. What I'm trying to get it to do is add the sales tax
(GST), but not add the secondary tax (PST), and add the GST to the total.
Another thing I should mention, is that when the tax item is selected by the
product, it shows the sales tax and secondary tax below, but it only adds
the sales tax to the total. What am I doing wrong? I've fiddled with a bunch
of settings and I can't seem to get it to work.
Thanks!
