MacRADIUS groups and OptiGoldFrom: Marcel Brown Date: Sunday, August 8, 1999
Time: 3:38:09 pmWe've purchased OptiGold and are studying it to integrate it into our
setup. We're running MacRADIUS and EIMS, which was one of the big reasons
we chose OptiGold.
Anyway, right now I have groups set up in MacRADIUS for our different kinds
of users. Basically, we have modem users, multi-link modem users, 64k ISDN,
and 128k ISDN. When we set up an account in MacRADIUS, we just create the
account with username and password, then drop it into the group. If the
user upgrades their account from modem to ISDN, for example, we just move
their account across groups. This makes it very easy for less technical
people to create accounts, as they just need to drop users into groups
instead of trying to figure out Frame Type, etc.
I've looked in the documentation and played around with a test install of
OptiGold. I can't see an obvious way of creating an account and droping it
into a MacRADIUS group. Did I overlook something obvious?
I'm sure I'll have many more questions in the following days or weeks, so
bear with me.
Thanks,
Marcel
