ok, so how do you sink someone with email spam?

Someone spammed our site about homeless people that basically put shite on the homeless and keeps sending me stuff that is annoying the daylights out of me.

How do I drench this MF in spam email?

I'm not sure how you do it but it's a great idea.

There's a blog for listing spammers details at http://spambank.blogspot.com/ and if it's like every other site on the net the harvesters will be through picking up his email address before long.

The thing is - you can't. If they spammed you through an open relay, you'd be spamming some poor bastard who doesn't know how to set up his SMTP server (you actually will be the bad guy then); If they spammed you from a DSL/cable line, you'd be hitting some random IP address even without an SMTP server running there; If they spammed you through a server located in, say, China or Brasil, then their server will be set up to discard any incoming mail and something like once-in-30-seconds email is just a joke for them. They can handle a few emails per second and not to feel too bad about it.

Don't waste your time and energy trying to get them. Just set up filters and block those addresses you know about. Better yet, set up a decent antispam filter and it will take care of most of spam for you.

The other risk is that the concept will get widespread and the good guys will get even more spam!

I know I don't want my blog spammed.

Apart from anything else, you could end up on a spammer blacklist with your details permanently marked as a spammer. I agree about forgetting about how to drown the mf in spam. Although the temptation is to get even, you would be wise to use your energies more creatively.

You could always use this site, but once you put an address on it there is no way to remove it or to stop the spam, but it really works

Be the bigger guy and avoid the temptation. Tell your client to focus on his core business and not to get distracted.

Then tighten security to block him and he will soon get bored. Spamming his email that he will soon route through a decent spam filter does nothing except help the spam filter get stronger.

If you know who he is then there are people like the police to turn to.

I think that it is best to stay away from this type of activity, because in many countries this is illegal, and if somehow police will find out, they will put you in jail, so my advice is to stay away form this.

I suggest you to better secure your site against spam. Doing the same shits that he/they did, will put yourself to the same level, and it's not really the solution, it will give you a negative reputation.

create a throw away email address. basically set up a email account gmail, live etc.. and use this email for anything you do online which is not important. Only give your personal email address to people you trust. Now if a spammer get this throw away email they can spam you all you want as this is what the address was set up for.

A simple way is to send the spammer half-million automated replies to stop spamming.
