Agree - tried most of them and there is a factor of 5 difference between adsense and the other ones.
The key is to show adds users are really interested in. That's the only thing that drives higher click rates. The maximum I got is 7% the minimum...

Focus on traffic from high paying countries (USA, W-Europe) rates are much better than e.g. India or Middle East
