My name is Sam Jenkins and i am the creator of
'The Banner Auction.com'
What is The Banner Auction?
The Banner Auction.com is a brand new, totally original form of web marketing. The idea is to offer Internet advertising space on a site to any business, organization or individual that could be viewed by 10's of 1000’s of people / potential customers worldwide. Having your ad on here is not only an effective way of bringing both visitors and search engine robots straight to your web site (helping you build inbound links for SEO, Google Page Rank and increase traffic to your web site) but it is also a chance to be part of something new and an opportunity to make an investment by advertising.
An Investment?
The first bid will cost £1 (Pound Sterling), the second £2 the third £3 etc... The sooner you come, the cheaper you pay. But your banner will be online for the life of the site no matter the popularity or price. This is why it is an investment. The more people who bid at the beginning to get cheap advertising also make the site more popular and every bid pushes the price up by £1. This attracted more page views and then more customers who pay more, and the banner that cost you £3, or £5 or £10 is on the same page as bigger company’s/brands who have paid £100 or £200 for the same advertising space.
How does it work?
It’s simple. There are spaces on the homepage for the banner ad's (468x60px). If you want your ad on there you must make a bid for the top space. If you make a bid higher than the existing value and your bid is accepted then you take that ads place and every ad is knocked down a place, i.e. your banner ad will be placed in the number 1 spot, whoever was previously in 1st place is moved to 2nd, whoever was in 2nd place is moved to 3rd etc… Once out of the 'Top 5' your banner is added below to the banner wall where it will stay for the life of the site.
How much is an ad space?
The opening price started at £1 in August 2011. Every time someone bids for a space the new bidding price goes up by £1 and the next bid must be equal to that.
How do I make an offer?
Again this is easy. All you do is go to the “Make an offer” page and fill in the form. If your bid is accepted & payment is cleared you will be contacted to let you know your ad is up and online.
How long will my ad be online?
Your ad will be online for the life of the site. How long it stays at the top spot, well that will all depends on other people’s bids for your place, as soon as some one places a higher bid they will then take the top spot and you will be bumped down one and so on. You can bid again if you wish and this will then give you 2 banner ads on the sight. You could potentially full the whole site with your banner ad.
How did you come up with this idea?
It all started when I was made redundant. To lose a job is not the best feeling, but trying to find a new one in the economical mess we are in at the moment is almost impossible. I started to think of other ways of 1. Making a bit of cash 2. To help other small businesses who are struggling at the moment with the worlds finances as they are.
I was trying to think of something cool and original that no one has done before. The Internet is full of copies and copies of copies and no one is interested in that. I wanted to start something new... Then it came to me. Advertising is very competitive. Everyone wants a piece of the action, for some its the lifeblood of their business, but most don’t have the money or the chance. On a popular web site there may be only be one ad space up for grabs and once a deal has been made then that space is lost for weeks, months, maybe for years. When it is available it’s unaffordable, so what about the rest of us? Well here is your chance.Interact
