    While I was offline, Google had a super long delay and a bunch of issues with Google Search Console and some of the reporting. Well, now that I am back, it seems to be coming back to normal. In fact, John Mueller of Google said this morning it might come back to normal later today.

    We may have had another Google search ranking algorithm update this past Thursday and Friday - over Yom Kippur day and Friday. The chatter was somewhat limited but there is chatter and the tools mostly show signs of a small update on the 16th and 17th of September.

    I've been asking Google for a month now how big of a change was the title change - where did it go from and to? Well, Google did tell us it uses HTML title tags 80% of the time but it didn't tell us what that number was before. Now Google changed it to use it 87% of the time. What was it before the change, I am not sure.

    About a month ago, Google made a change to the snippet titles it shows in its search results, then confirmed that change a week after it was launched. The SEO community went a bit nuts about the changes and Google said, hold on, we are listening, we will adapt. Google may have begun to roll out some of those changes based on the feedback it has received.

    Starting Thursday, September 9, 2021 and going on through even today, September 13th, there has been a lot of chatter and volatility in and around the Google search results. It has not really cooled or calmed down, not yet, at least.

    Google Ads Search Terms Report Gains 6.5X More Query Data

    Google announced that the Google Ads search term report now has, on average, 6.5 times more query data than since the company hide search term data back in September 2020. Google said "we're able to show you more queries that meet our privacy standards in the search terms report for Search and Dynamic Search Ads campaigns."

    Google Search Ranking Update On Saturday - September 4th (Tools Little Chatter)

    This weekend there may have been yet another Google Search algorithm ranking update. This one is a bit different in that the chatter was pretty low, maybe that is because of the Labor Day weekend? But the tools, almost all of them, spiked higher than the September 1st update that had a lot more chatter than this September 4th update.
