See mine, I simply put two girls, like if one says something to the other, hence the name shetoldme, gossip-like. The advantage is that all the girls who try to make money online by writing will feel somewhat more confortable with this logo and name than with sites with neutral names. And this name doesn't exclude boys at all, and some might think it is a good venue to promote their "female-oriented" content.

I don't know what mashbite means, but since you certainly do, you could try to play around this theme so that there is a relationship between the name and some graphics. See Digg, they made a logo with a man holding a tool for digging, a shovel, and the overall meaning is to dig for web items, such as relevant news, original content, etc.

Try to do the same for your site, I believe it would help a little.
