Recently I found two porn websites linking to my site. I disavow those links and wrote to admins asking them to remove those links but... what can I...

    The problem with responsive frameworks

    by Rian van der Merwe
    Aug 7, 2013
There’s so much good stuff in this responsive design interview with Brad Frost and others. I was especially interested in everyone’s thoughts on responsive frameworks. Here’s Aaron Gustafson‘s answer:

I find Foundation, Bootstrap, and similar frameworks interesting from an educational standpoint, but I would never use one when building a production site. For prototyping a concept, sure, but to take one of these into production you need to be rigorous in your removal of unused CSS and...

As I reported at Search Engine Land, Apple mobile Safari in iOS 7 and in some cases, other iOS versions, is showing more referrer data now than it did prior. Back in the day, Apple for some reason stopped showing in many cases that traffic came from Google when the search happened on Google via mobile Safari.

    Aug 5, 2013
The idea that we allow too many distractions to take our focus of the work we’re supposed to be doing is not new. And the solution — just turn things off! — is not rocket science either. But I find it interesting just how many blog posts we’ve seen about this topic over the past couple of years. Working in the Shed by Matt Gemmell is another really good one:

We act as if we take concentration for granted, yet everyone has had trouble keeping their mind on the task at hand. We litter our...

I’ll start with a graph showing all site traffic to Moz...

In June, the US Federal Trade Commission warned seven “general purpose” search engines — including Google, Bing and Yahoo — about the need to ensure they were properly disclosing paid ads. But 17 other “specialty” search engines were also warned. Which ones? The FTC wouldn’t say. Thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request, Search Engine Land can now reveal the names.
